Dwyla Jones

I am elated to serve as assistant principal at Berwick Jr. High School. In my 16 years of classroom experience, I have and will always consider myself a “teacher at heart.” My educational background includes degrees from Nicholls State University (Bachelor’s) and Louisiana State University-Shreveport (Master’s). My intent as an educator is to exemplify the desire as well as challenge students and teachers to become lifetime learners.

I am blessed and proud to be the mother of two wonderful young men that were motivated by high expectations. These are the same expectations I have for all students at Berwick Jr. High School.

It is my belief when students are provided engaging, rigorous, and meaningful instruction in a well-structured learning environment, they will rise to the challenge and meet and/or exceed grade level expectations. I take on the responsibility to ensure this takes place daily at BJHS.

It is a privilege to help lead Berwick Jr. High and its plethora of talented teachers and students! A goal I have for this school year is to be supportive in the provisions of a positive school climate and culture that is conducive to teaching and learning. In doing so, I believe every student and teacher may have a fair opportunity to experience growth to their highest potential. I am exceptionally excited to meet and engage with all stakeholders in the school and within Berwick’s community!

Yours in Education,
Dwyla Jones
